As you will see by the photos below, some improvements have been made recently to spiff up our boring backyard. I can't WAIT for it all to be done! Just need to get the rest of the patio stones in and some edging for the new garden bed, and we'll be done.

And finally, look what I got for Mother's Day!!!!
Isn't it great?! It's so exciting to have such a comfortable, pretty place to enjoy now. I'm looking forward to nice days knitting on the swing while Sophie plays in the yard.
In the garden, I planted bright red Asiatic lilies (kinda like Easter lilies or Day lilies) and green and gold Euonymous (Yoo-ON-uh-muss) shrubs. I've always loved Euonymous because they're small and sooo cute, but they're actually supposed to tolerate lousy soil conditions, so that's definitely a GOOD thing considering we have nothing but clay soil and rocks about 2 inches under the top soil.
